JR's team had a good year finishing with a record of 21-13-3.  North Park won the division but lost in the play-off finals at the Prudential Center to their arch rival, Essex, by a score of 3-1, with a frenzied finish capped off by an empty netter.  They also finished second in a season ending tournament held in White Plains, losing in the finals to a team they had beat earlier in the week. His team was decimated by injuries this season.  They had seven players out for a minimum of 4 games due to concussions (3) and wrist fractures (4), which made it difficult to find a rhythm.  

JR (#6) was the assistant captain and had his own injury issues. After a strong start he suffered a pulled hamstring that hampered him for almost two months.  After the holidays he was back to full strength and played well.  He is not afraid of contact, has deceptive speed and scored some nice goals.  He really loves the sport most of all.  

This was his last season with North Park.  He is looking forward to next season and new frontiers.

Kyle (#3) was on that new frontier, having tried out and made the NYC Skyliners U16 team.  The team was a young team, with all first years (15 year olds), except one second year 16 year old player who was injured almost the whole season.  The team did great finishing at .500 after a slow start.  They were in it to the end with the last game of the season determining the division championship in the Long Island Amateur Hockey League.  They made the play-offs, which was a first for the Skyliner program.  They also won a tournament up in Brewster outdoors a la the Winter Classic.  Kyle really made a lot of progress this season, more so than any other season I think.  He grew a lot and has adjusted to his new size over the course of the season.

The team is really looking forward to next season with an opportunity for all to return.  Adding a couple new players (such as JR) to to the mix will help make them bonafide state contenders.
